Aaron brings 12 years of industry experience as a sell-side wealth management investment banker. Aaron has represented numerous advisors on all aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Prior to creating his own investment banking firm, Aaron served as Regional Director of Branch Development with LPL Financial. Prior to LPL, he was the Regional Vice President of US Advisors Network, a professional supervisory marketing and practice development firm. A background in compliance and business process management, as well as developing small to mid-sized businesses allows him to understand the advisor experience. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Olaf College where he majored in Economics and minored in English.

Katie brings 18 years of experience in the financial services industry to the SkyView Partners team. Most recently, Katie served as a Director - National Accounts at Principal Financial Group for 13 years. She was responsible for cultivating and growing the major independent and regional broker relationships, including LPL, Ameriprise, Ladenburg, and RBC. In her role, Katie was responsible for retaining selling agreements, positioning investments, gaining model portfolio allocations, and navigating the independent channel’s conference calendar. Prior to joining Principal, Katie was employed by Fidelity Investments in their non-profit retirement plan group.

Katie graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of California, Berkeley.

Rick Dennen

As Oak Street Funding’s Founder, President and CEO, Rick Dennen has led the company from a business concept in 2003 to the nation’s top insurance lender today. In that time, Oak Street has expanded its loan products to the CPA and RIA industries, developed innovative technology and a third-party loan servicing platform. Rick was recently named President of First Commercial Finance, a division of First Financial Bank, and now oversees lending for Franchise Capital in addition to Oak Street.

Before founding Oak Street, Rick was a partner in a venture capital firm serving various capacities for portfolio companies within the fund. He was also a Senior Manager at Deloitte serving public and private companies in the financial services and manufacturing industries. His experience also includes specialty consulting done in Securitization, SFAS 91, 125 and 133, “lean” assessments, valuation, and various M&A and divestiture transactions.

Rick earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Indiana, as well as a licensed agent for Life, Accident and Health products in Indiana. Rick has authored and been featured in numerous articles in leading publications. He is an adjunct professor of venture capital and entrepreneurial finance at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and has spoken at conferences, universities, seminars and other events.

James Hughes

James Hughes joined Live Oak Bank in 2013 with over eight years of sales, management, client service and financial services experience. Since then he has helped hundreds of businesses achieve their goals through financing. James has served in several roles at Live Oak, including as a Sales Trader, Relationship Manager, Underwriter and Loan Officer.

Prior to Live Oak Bank, James worked at one of the leading investment banks in the world. There he managed a group of derivative trading assistants and several client service teams.

Through this unique experience James has gained an understanding of the challenges that business owners face. In his current role as a Loan Officer, James is dedicated to assisting small business owners in the Investment Advisory industry attain success and continue to thrive with Live Oak Bank’s products and services.

James has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University.

As the Director of the Investment Advisor Program, Dustin spends 100% of his time focused on the acquisition financing needs of investment advisors nationwide. From the initial phone call to the funding of your loan, Dustin takes a hands-on approach to making sure your experience and needs are properly met throughout the entire process.

Dustin spent two years as a financial advisor providing retirement planning for non-profit organizations before joining PPCLOAN in May of 2005. With nearly 10 years of experience as a cash-flow lender, Dustin has underwritten more than $250 million in funded loans supporting hundreds of business owners across the country that are looking to grow their business by way of acquisition. Dustin has also assisted business owners with various other financing needs including mergers, buy-ins, buy-outs, and succession plans.

Dustin is a 2002 graduate of Texas A&M University, resides in Houston, TX, and enjoys traveling and hunting.

Susie brings to Oak Street Funding 30+ years of banking industry experience providing specialized lending to business owners.  As a trusted advisor to hundreds of business owners during her career, Susie’s financial knowledge and expertise has helped those business owners grow their businesses into successful companies.  Before joining Oak Street Funding, she was Vice President of Client Advancement at Renaissance Philanthropic Solutions Group (RenPSG).  At RenPSG, Susie was a subject matter expert on Donor Advised Funds and worked directly with individual Financial Advisors, RIAs, Broker Dealers, and large financial institutions to implement Donor Advised Fund programs to facilitate charitable giving.

Susie and her husband, Kevin, live in Carmel, Indiana and enjoy travel, golf, music concerts, and spending time with family

Ed Swenson

Ed Swenson is the co-founder of Dynasty Financial Partners. He is responsible internally for all technology, operational and client servicing relationships and externally for all outside vendor and technology relationships established for the firm. Prior to Dynasty, he was a Portfolio Manager for the Legg Mason Partners Large Cap Growth Fund, where he oversaw trading, rebalancing and distribution network communications for Smith Barney’s Multiple Discipline Accounts division.

Mr. Swenson is a graduate of both the London School of Economics and New York University’s Stern School of Business. He serves on the boards of Citizens Union and the Urban Assembly New York Harbor School, where he also serves as treasurer.
